Recycling
This morning Room 9 looked at heaps of garbage. A lady came and showed us how much rubbish we create at Enner Glynn School in ONE DAY! We felt sad about the rubbish. We felt sad because that rubbish will go to a landfill. Here is some of the rubbish that was there.
Plastic
Food Scraps
Paper
Cardboard
Mrs Langi gave us some ideas of how we could help. Here are some ideas.
- We can recycle things like paper, bottles, yoghurt pots and food scraps.
- We need to keep our food scraps in our lunch boxes until lunch time and then put them in the worm bucket (remember the things that can't go in there like orange peel and plastic).
- We could wrap our sandwiches in baking paper.
- We could make our own muesli bars.
- We could start using canvas bags for our shopping.

Thank you
We loved the performance so much last week we thought we had better write to Bernard and Kuba and say thank you! We spend the week thinking about what we loved and what we learnt from their performance. Here is the email we sent to say thank you.
Dear Bernard and Kuba
Thank you so much for visiting Enner Glynn School in Nelson, New Zealand last week. We throughly enjoyed your performance, and I have to say I was as captivated as the students! My class decided it would be a good idea to write and say thank you for coming and tell you what we enjoyed about your show. The children have just chosen part of their writing to share with you as it would have taken you a long time to read it all! They are a year 1/2 class so all aged between 5 and 7.
Thank you again for coming and sharing your inspiring performance with us!
Kind regards Alice Whitehead and Room 9

An Exciting Week!
Room 9 has had an exciting week! We did lots of cool stuff. We started our Inquiry which is about FORCES.
We went to the museum on Tuesday. We learnt about Roman machines. We saw Roman pictures. We used pulleys. We know now that it was really hot in the Roman's days. They built lots of things.
Yesterday we had an INCREDIBLE performance called Mana, Spirt of Polynesia. He was so good at dancing. He was quick at dancing. He taught us to use poi. He said he travelled to all different countries.

The Places We Could Go!
This week for our inquiry we have been thinking about places we might go in the future. We read "Oh The Places You Will Go" by Dr Seuss. Have you read it? We used our imaginations to think of some places we could go.
