The Places We Could Go!

This week for our inquiry we have been thinking about places we might go in the future. We read "Oh The Places You Will Go" by Dr Seuss. Have you read it? We used our imaginations to think of some places we could go.

 My place is Mars. There is a camouflaged snake and there is a house on its side. There is a colourful sun and pink, green and red hills. You have climb stairs to get to the house. By Marlon

 My place is a movie fair where there is a poisonous snake. People walk home from school there over a big hill. The sky is blue and there is a purple mountain. By Levi

 My place is a place for boating. Its about jumping into the water going fishing. Its is funny place where you can go funny fishing. You catch orange fish. By Sebastian

 My place is on Easter Island. There is an elevator there and there are Easter bunnies that work underground. You have to go on a big boat to get there. There are orange clouds and brown sky. By Ollie

 My place is the Easter bunny’s place. It has a stripy door and a trampoline. There is an Easter Hunt and it’s night time. There are Easter eggs getting hidden because it is dark. By Sophie

 I would like to go to the Easter bunnies house and hide Easter eggs every where. I would eat them all night and day. I would like them in my lunch. The place looks magical with magic everywhere so you could fly. By Leanna

 My place is a Thomas the Tank engine railway. The railways go by the docks. It is so cool because it has Tomas, Edward and James. There are stations and sheds. There is also a big quarry next to the little river. There is tunnel to Misty Island. By Tauki

 I want to go to the old house when I am big. You can ring the doorbell and something happens. A big arm lifts you up and sees what you look like and then it puts you down. Then you can walk in. You have to climb a big mountain to get there. By Matua

 My place is Australia. There are snakes, swimming pools and grass. The sky is blue and the grass is green. By Jack

 My place is a funny house. It is on an angle so it looks funny. It’s got a pink roof. Silly people live there and they dance upside down. By Lilly C

Garden Veggies!

Room 9 had a fantastic day today picking zucchini fresh from the garden and making delicious zucchini fritters that we shared for morning tea. We are looking forward to writing about this next week! Thank you Ms Le Compte for your help.

Catayana says making the fritters was amazing!

Marlon says he felt proud and excited because he tried them.

Zoe felt excited because she had tried them before.

Trolley Racing

Room 9 had a fantastic time making and racing their trolleys! Here are our goals for making and racing them. Some of us didn't achieve our goal of coming 1st but Ollie says that's ok! He said we just have to try again on Trolley Derby Day and change our trolleys to make them quicker. Well done Ollie, I couldn't have said it better myself! Miss Whitehead : )

Inquiry Day - Goals

On Monday morning Mr Day came into our class and told us all about goals. 

We got told about three new things we could learn with goals. To make a paper airplane and throw it a 15 pinsteps. To make a paper butterfly with wings that move. To bounce a patter ball against a wall a certain number of times. 

It was very exciting and very fun.

Most of us achieved our goals!

We learnt some things that you need to do when you have got a goal you are trying to achieve. 

We have set some goals at home with our parents, which we will work on this term.
